Glyph Reflection

Last week in OT school, one of our assignments was to draw a glyph based off of characteristics we identify in leadership. We had done the same assignment a year and a half ago when we began school, but were challenged to draw without looking at the one we had already drawn. The goal was to compare the two and see the differences. I have taken a picture of my glyphs below - with the left being the one I drew when I started OT school, and the one on the right being from last week.

I think what surprised me the most was how identical my pictures were. Things I thought I was being super creative on were the exact same things I did over a year ago when I drew it the first time. I felt that characteristics of a leader were the same, as well, so my pictures ended up very similar. The only difference in my pictures is that this time I decided to draw a dog, which I think means I have expanded my creativity while I have been in OT school. Another difference was the size of my eyes, indicating that I now think that the majority of OTs are leaders, something I did not believe last year. I also drew multiple freckles on the face of my new glyph, indicating that I have learned so much more about how important self-awareness is to being an effective leader. I loved being able to see the comparison of how I have grown since being in OT school, but also how so many things have not changed as well about parts of my personality and creative style. This was such a fun exercise to do!
